As we reached the middle of the week, it was time to venture outside of Belfort, and so the third day of the mobility was taken up by trips to the nearby towns of Fortwenger and Colmar.

In the morning we gathered at the school and began our journey towards our first destination: Fortwenger. After a not-so-long ride, we were stunned by the wonderful sight of Fortwenger that was brimming with Christmas spirit. There we visited the gingerbread factory, learning how this iconic Christmas dessert is made and also having the chance to each decorate a gingerbread man.

Before lunch, we hopped on the coach again to make our way to Colmar, where we had a picnic. Afterwards, we walked along the crowded streets until we reached the Bartholdi Museum, the famous artist’s birthplace. After visiting the Museum, we had a few hours to explore the Christmas Market and shop.

The sun was long gone behind the horizon when we arrived back in Belfort. However, for some of us, the day wasn’t over yet. Some of the students, myself included, went for a walk and did some shopping after we returned, and before finally going home, we went to McDonald’s and had a meal there.
